TEAM BeauSoleil, a group of architecture, engineering and business administration students at UL Lafayette, participated in the 2009 U.S. Department of Energy’s Solar Decathlon. It was one of only 20 universities from around the world that were chosen to build solar homes on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The BeauSoleil Louisiana Solar Home earned two major awards during the competition: the first place Market Viability Award and the People’s Choice Award.
