Mathematics Placement and Credit Information

Placement by the ACT mathematics sub-score (for most students)

ACT ≤ 16: Preparatory work is needed before enrolling in MATH 092

ACT of 17: MATH 092

18 ≤ ACT ≤ 20: MATH 100

21 ≤ ACT ≤ 25: MATH 105

18 ≤ ACT ≤ 24: MATH 107

ACT ≥ 25: MATH 109

ACT ≥ 25: MATH 109 and MATH 110

ACT ≥ 30: MATH 270

Students with ACT ≥ 26 who have never attended a college or university may take the advanced credit exam for credit in MATH 105 or MATH 109 and MATH 110. [Placement exam schedule]

Students with 27 ≤ ACT ≤ 29 receive automatic credit in MATH 105

Students with ACT ≥ 30 receive automatic credit in MATH 109 (placement/credit exam required for MATH 110)

Students wishing to challenge placement in MATH 092 or MATH 100 may take the freshman placement exam. This exam is for placement only. No credit is given. [Placement exam schedule]

CalculusAB 3: credit in MATH 109 and MATH 250

CalculusAB 4,5: credit in MATH 109, MATH 110 and MATH 270

CalculusBC 3: credit in MATH 109, MATH110 and MATH 270

CalculusBC 4,5: credit in MATH 109, MATH 110, MATH 270 and MATH 301
