The History Department at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette has twenty one fulltime faculty members with varied interests and specialties, including United States History, European History, Latin American History, and Public History.

The current head of the department is Dr. Robert Carriker. He is assisted by Dr. Mary Farmer-Kaiser, the Graduate Coordinator, and Dr. Carl Richard, the Undergraduate Coordinator.
